Academic Breast Radiation Oncologist

General Description

The Johns Hopkins Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences is seeking an outstanding academically-focused breast radiation oncologist to join the Department at our Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital location in Washington, D.C. Clinical activities will include leading the Johns Hopkins breast radiation oncology service across all sites and close multi-disciplinary collaboration with breast surgeons, medical oncology and the diverse multi-disciplinary complement of breast cancer care providers. Participation within the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center will be encouraged, and the successful candidate will work closely with the integrated clinical team at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the National Capital Region, and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Research can combine clinical, physics and / or biology-based interests, with an emphasis on innovative clinical trials.

Qualifications

Requirements include an M.D. degree(s), ABR board certification (preferred) or eligibility, demonstrated clinical competency in Radiation Oncology and a strong interest in the clinical care and research of breast cancer patients.

Salary Range

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education / training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing.
