Underwriter - Employee Benefits

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and assess employee benefit plan proposals, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefit programs.
• Evaluate risk factors, claims experience, and demographic data to develop accurate cost projections and funding strategies.
• Prepare detailed underwriting analyses and recommendations to support benefit plan design and pricing decisions.
• Collaborate with account managers, consultants, and brokers to structure competitive, cost-effective benefit offerings for employer groups.
• Analyze renewal requests and negotiate terms with carriers to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
• Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements related to employee benefits.
• Support the development of financial and actuarial reports to present plan performance to internal teams and clients.
• Provide consultative insights to improve benefit plan sustainability while balancing cost, compliance, and employee satisfaction.

Skills & Requirements :

Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field is preferred.
