American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position requiring a CT or compact license and advanced pediatric critical care skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in the Pediatric ICU of a short-term acute care hospital and Level I Trauma CenterNight shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2Requires floating to other pediatric units within the children's hospital including Pediatric ED, NNICU, inpatient pediatric departments, and psychiatric unit as needed, within scope of practiceExperience with cardiac critical care, CRRT, and ECMO preferredEpic EMR is used; experience is preferred but not requiredWeekend shifts are required every other weekendNo on-call requirementCare for critically ill pediatric patients, including those with complex cardiac conditionsExpected to take assignments and provide patient care when floating to other pediatric unitsRoyal blue scrubs are requiredParking is available for $125 per monthHoliday coverage may be required as per unit guidelinesRTO (requested time off) greater than 7 days requires approvalReturning staff must have at least 2 years since prior employment to be consideredFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this position\n \n Requirements\n
Active CT or compact RN license or proof of application prior to startMinimum of 3 years of PICU nursing experience requiredTrauma center experience at a large facility is requiredCurrent PALS and BLS certifications requiredExperience in pediatric cardiac intensive care, CRRT and ECMO are preferredFlu vaccine is required with no exceptions; COVID vaccine or booster is required unless medical or religious exemption is providedCompletion of hospital modules (4 hours) required prior to startMust provide at least 1 professional referenceCandidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted\n Benefits\n
