Job descriptionJob Description : Infusion Services - RN Primary care of Infusion patients, monitoring lab results, reviewing treatment plans, manage infusion appointments, review Prior Auth / Insurance verification decisions to ensure alignment with current treatment plans, perform appointment reminder calls and treatment follow up calls, work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best outcomes. Required Certifications : ONS, BLS Experience : Demonstrates evidence based clinical practice, strong critical thinking, strong IV start skills, good communication skills. Shifts & Scheduling : Two RN’s M-F, 7am-330pm and 830am-500pm, closed on holidays. Weekend Requirement : No Holiday Requirement : No Is there a call or standby requirement : Call if census is low, happens rarely. Department : Infusion Therapy | RN # Beds / Chairs : 6 recliners Average # of patients : Ave 7; 12-14 max some days. Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 3-4 average, but varies with census (2 nurses on with overlapping schedules). Common diagnosis : Oncology (approx. 65% of encounters), remainder are comprised of Gastro, Rheumatology, Infectious Disease, and others. Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift : No charge nurse, another nursing director will be resource on days infusion director may be gone. Are there nurse aids : Medical assistant to help with administrative tasks, also obtains insurance verification / Prior Auth. Not currently assisting with direct patient care. EMR : EPIC Floating Requirements : No Scrub Color : Personal scrubs, professional in appearance, no color requirement, Facial piercings required to be neutral in color. Department specific orientation : Orientation to unit : 2-3 days, additional time considered if needed. Note that unit is small and incoming RN will be working alongside another RN. Radius Rule : This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.
