Position Overview
Providence Staffing is seeking a Business Financial Analyst to support the U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), Long Range Enforcer (LRE) Product Line in Alameda, CA. The successful candidate will perform comprehensive maintenance and financial analytics to enhance the availability, affordability, and auditability of Coast Guard assets. This position offers the opportunity to directly support mission-critical programs that sustain fleet readiness and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull, reconcile, and analyze financial and operational data from systems including FSMS, FLS, NESSS, IBM Cognos, and CWD to meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual data calls.
- Track projects, HM&E maintenance events, and costs; monitor commitments, obligations, and execution performance , identifying and reporting financial or operational risks.
- Perform budget and affordability analyses across Operating Expense (OE) and Procurement, Construction, and Improvements (PC&I) accounts.
- Provide pipeline certification and fiscal year closeout support in coordination with Coast Guard financial teams.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards, performance metrics, and analytical reports ; brief findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Prepare and deliver a Monthly Progress Report (by the 15th of each month) and submit meeting minutes within five business days of each meeting.
- Collaborate closely with government stakeholders for data validation, documentation, and approval processes.
- Support invoice processing via the Invoice Processing Platform (IPP).
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience in federal financial or business analysis , preferably within DoD or U.S. Coast Guard programs.Hands-on experience with at least one of the following systems : FSMS, FLS, NESSS, or IBM Cognos .Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas; Power Query / Power Pivot a plus).Demonstrated experience in account reconciliations, commitments / obligations analysis, and fiscal closeout .Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and collaborating in an on-site environment.Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience with U.S. Coast Guard SFLC / LRE operations and familiarity with HM&E maintenance scheduling or asset availability processes.Comprehensive knowledge across FSMS, FLS, NESSS, IBM Cognos, and CWD ; experience building Cognos reports.Familiarity with Affordable Readiness Budget concepts , OE / PC&I funding , and IPP invoicing procedures .Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Cognos Analytics ; basic SQL proficiency.Background in process improvement or audit readiness (Lean, Six Sigma certification preferred).
