Sterile Processing Supervisor
Schedule : Thu & Fri 3 : 00 PM – 11 : 30 PM; Sat & Sun 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM
Sign-On Bonus : $7,500 for Full-Time New Hires
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our Sterile Processing Department (SPD). This role is ideal for a hands-on leader ready to support staff, enforce best practices, and maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
Plan, organize, and manage daily SPD and / or materials processing activitiesMonitor workflows and prioritize tasks to meet clinical and scheduling needsLead the development and implementation of departmental goals, policies, and sterilization protocolsSupervise staff across shifts, including performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actionsEnsure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelinesManage inventory of instruments, equipment, and surgical materialsDeliver ongoing staff training and in-services for continued education and developmentPartner with clinical teams and vendors to resolve issues and ensure timely material availabilityStay current on best practices and innovations through professional education and committee participationQualifications :
Prior experience in sterile processing or materials management in a healthcare setting requiredLeadership or supervisory experience strongly preferredStrong understanding of infection control, decontamination, and sterilization methodsExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsThis position plays a vital leadership role during off-hours and weekends—ideal for someone who thrives on accountability, teamwork, and high standards of patient safety.
Candidates must have :
A high school level of education is required. Associates preferredA minimum of three years ( ideally would like 5 ) of related experience as a Sterile Processing Technician is requiredPrevious experience as a Leader / Supervisor in Sterile ProcessingCurrent Sterile Processing certification is required (CPBSD)SPD Manager certification is preferred, but not required (CHL)The ability to interact and coordinate with employees, vendors, surgeons, and nursing staff#PVDR
