The Center for Education and Career Opportunities (CECO) program offers individuals aged 16 - 21 years old without a high school diploma the chance to return to school to continue their education. This program is run in coordination with King County and its Open Doors high school partner.
The Transitional Studies Navigator is a central member of the CECO team. Under the supervision of the CECO Program Manager and Director, the CECO Transitional Studies Navigator is responsible for recruiting, enrolling, guiding, and communicating between Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) and CECO to ensure that services and policies align. This includes providing wraparound support for all CECO Transitional Studies students as they navigate through the Adult Basic Education (ABE) / English as a Second Language (ESL) programs and into other career and college pathways. In coordination with other Transitional Studies staff, this Navigator will also play a key role in assisting the unit with key processes around onboarding and BEdA grant compliance. The position offers navigation and student support, success coaching, and barrier reduction to ensure that students are not only successful within ABE / ESL, but that they can successfully transition to the next level of their educational and / or career pathway.
Please note : This position is eligible for Assignment Pay based on the Dual Language Requirement.

The College is currently providing services in a mixed modality of operations (both online and in-person services are offered). This position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus. Please note, there may be limited opportunities for online work depending on program or area needs. If authorized for online work, employees will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs.
Terms Of Employment / Salary :
This position is allocated to pay range 42, under the Washington State Office of Financial Management higher education salary schedule. Salary placement for new employees is determined by the College. This position works 40 hours per week, with a schedule dependent upon department needs. Hiring of this position is contingent on available funding as determined by the College President.

PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
A part time faculty member becomes eligible for benefits at the beginning of the second consecutive quarter of half time or more employment at one or more Washington state institutions of higher education. Spring and fall quarters are considered consecutive quarters for benefits eligibility. Half time is determined based on each institution's definition of full time.
A part time faculty member must qualify each quarter they teach to maintain eligibility. Once eligible, part time faculty will be notified of their benefit and retirement options.
