The Corporate Tax Manager will have a strong understanding of domestic tax compliance, with LATAM tax regulations exposure as a plus. This position will be responsible for managing the company's tax obligations, ensuring compliance with local tax laws, and providing strategic tax planning and advice to the business. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in tax management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Reporting : Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns for the company, ensuring compliance with both domestic and LATAM tax regulations. Manage corporate income taxes, value-added taxes (VAT), withholding taxes, and other applicable taxes.
- Tax Provisioning : Manage the preparation and review of the company's tax provisions, ensuring accurate reflection of tax liabilities in accordance with domestic accounting standards and international guidelines (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations.
- Tax Audits & Dispute Resolution : Lead and manage tax audits in both domestic and LATAM jurisdictions, working with tax authorities to resolve disputes and provide necessary documentation. Proactively manage the preparation and response to tax authority inquiries and audits.
- Tax Planning & Strategy : Collaborate with senior management to design and implement tax-efficient strategies that optimize the company's global tax position, particularly within the LATAM region. Identify opportunities for tax savings, credits, and other tax benefits.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams : Partner with the finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure that tax considerations are integrated into business decisions, especially in relation to LATAM business operations. Advise on the tax impact of business transactions, investments, and new product offerings.
- Tax Technology and Automation : Lead initiatives to improve the efficiency and accuracy of tax reporting and compliance processes using tax software and automation tools.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.Certifications : CPA, Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA), or similar professional designations are highly preferred.Experience : Minimum of 5-7 years of tax experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. A strong understanding of both domestic and LATAM tax regulations is essential.Technical Skills : Proficient in tax compliance software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of international tax concepts, transfer pricing, and tax provisions.Knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP : Familiarity with IFRS or US GAAP and their impact on tax reporting and provisioning.Experience with International Tax Planning : Experience in cross-border tax planning and structuring, with exposure to international tax treaties, withholding tax, and transfer pricing rules.
