Job Title : Histotechnologist

Job Description

The histotechnologist will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in a state-of-the-art CAP-certified pathology laboratory. Under the guidance of a Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high-quality diagnostic material within established turnaround times.

Responsibilities

• Embed, cut, stain, and perform other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory.
• Perform accurate gross description on tissue samples.
• Perform quality control procedures established for each method and maintain accurate records.
• Operate all instruments / equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognize and identify instrument / equipment problems.
• Meet acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section.
• Recognize testing errors / discrepancies or problems and notify appropriate personnel to assist in problem resolution.
• Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol.
• Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results.
• Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System.
• Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turnaround time guidelines.

Work Environment

The position is 100% onsite in Miami, in a lab environment, working as part of a team. The lab is located on the 6th floor, with the shift running from 10pm to 6 : 30am (third shift).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00 / hr.
