Job Details

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame.

Provides care using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the institution's philosophy.

Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service.

Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.

Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care for healthcare team use.

Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and develops appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs.

Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.

Modifies plan of care based on continuous evaluation.

Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting safety hazards and incidents.

Communicates directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.

Offers constructive feedback to assist professional development of peers and confers with colleagues to expand knowledge.

Identifies own learning needs and initiates appropriate solutions.

Fulfills all departmental competency requirements.

Job Requirements

Assess IV sites every 4 hours.

Start new IVs per Carle policy.

Maintain documentation standards as evidenced by passed quarterly chart audits.

Attend 5 out of 6 staff meetings per year.

Identify change in patient status and respond appropriately.
