Basic Job Purpose / Function

Operates a variety of heavy roadway equipment for the removal of snow from County roads.

Essential Job Duties

1. Operates a variety of heavy roadway equipment for the removal of snow from County roads.

2. Works on a call-out basis during heavy snow accumulations.

3. Assists with other emergency road repair projects as needed.

Requirements / Minimum Qualifications

1. Knowledge of road hazards during winter conditions and safety procedures.

2. Knowledge of the proper and safe use of a variety of heavy roadway equipment.

3. Ability to operate a variety of motorized equipment and vehicles used in the performance of duties.

4. Ability to work both independently or cooperatively in work crews.

5. Physically perform the essential functions of the job.

6. Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be : High school diploma or GED.

Licenses, Certificates and Other Requirements

Valid state driver's license in state of residence Experience operating motorized equipment during winter conditions. Valid Washington State Commercial Driver's License. Class A combination and no air brake restrictions
