Assistant Director for Compliance Services

JOB SUMMARY

The University of Connecticut is accepting applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Director for Compliance Services. This individual will report directly to the Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following : serve as main compliance office contact for select varsity sport(s); assist in student services (housing and dining) and financial aid responsibilities in conjunction with the Director of Compliance Services; assist in initial-eligibility evaluations and roster management; assist in numerous areas of overall monitoring (with an emphasis on Bylaw 16); serve as a resource for student-athletes coaches staff members and the university community regarding NCAA rules and provide interpretations related to all NCAA bylaws; submit NCAA and conference waivers and reinstatement cases for applicable assigned sports; and provide game day support for various sporting events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Sport Management or related field and two years of previous experience within a Division I or II institutions compliance office or conference office or at the NCAA national office (within the past five years) including demonstrated experience with the NCAA Applications Portal OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA compliance and proven ability to appropriately apply rules while assisting coaches and staff in achieving objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to produce reliable results regularly exercise good judgment and problem solve.
• Excellent written oral and interpersonal communication skills.

This is a full-time permanent position. Relocation assistance is not available.
