Goldin Auctions is a leading sports memorabilia auction house specializing in rare and valuable collectibles across multiple verticals, including trading cards, game-used memorabilia, signed memorabilia, toys, action figures, watches, and video games. We are seeking a meticulous and passionate Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in editing and a keen interest in sports memorabilia and the collectibles space. As an Editor, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of all written materials related to our auctions and collections across multiple categories (Sports, Pop Culture, Video Games, Coins).

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and proofread auction catalogs, item descriptions, auction titles, marketing materials, and other written content.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to verify the authenticity and historical significance of items, doing additional research to verify, if needed.
  • Ensure all content adheres to the company’s style guide and maintains a consistent tone and voice.
  • Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to develop compelling narratives around featured items.
  • Assist in the creation and editing of press releases and promotional content.
  • Manage deadlines and workflow to ensure timely completion of projects, with all items slated for auction edited prior to launch.
  • Conduct occasional interviews with consignors and experts to gather additional information for item descriptions.
  • Stay updated on trends and developments in the collectibles industry.
  • Proofreads at each stage of production.
  • Checks for grammar, punctuation, usage, capitalization, style, layout, format, inconsistencies, and redundancies and verifies facts as needed.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and communicates them to the department head.
  • Must have a strong understanding of AP style.
  • Must edit with attention to detail and be enthusiastic about putting out the best-quality product.
  • Proactive tracking of all lots to show progress completion for auction launch.
  • Experience using AI tools and an interest in finding new ways to use AI technology to improve the editorial workflow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as an editor, preferably within the collectibles or auction industry, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sports history, sports memorabilia, trading cards, pop culture, coins, and historical documents.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Keeping up-to-date on AI trends and how to integrate AI into our work process.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite and familiarity with content management systems.

  • The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below : $60,000 - $101,500. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
