Purpose of the Role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading shift operations, managing personnel, and ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant execution of production activities. This role oversees daily plant systems, equipment availability, material readiness, and staffing to meet production schedules and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adequate staffing levels for each shift and allocate tasks effectively.
- Train and develop operators to build autonomy in system management, troubleshooting, and general problem-solving.
- Escalate issues and coordinate corrective actions in alignment with established procedures and leadership direction.
- Drive productivity and performance targets for the team, ensuring alignment with operational objectives.
- Optimize production flow, reduce waste, and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve operational challenges.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and quality enhancement.
- Facilitate smooth shift handovers with clear communication to maintain workflow continuity.
- Oversee proper handling of tools, materials, and personal protective equipment by all shift leaders and operators.
- Communicate timely updates on production performance, safety alerts, and operational priorities.
- Uphold company standards in quality, safety, and housekeeping.
- Participate in production trials and troubleshoot equipment faults in collaboration with maintenance teams, ensuring safe and timely resolution.
- Partner with Quality Control to monitor and maintain product standards.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, environmental regulations, and safety procedures.
- Maintain order, cleanliness, and waste segregation within the work area.
- Collaborate with Health & Safety teams on risk assessments and participate in internal audits as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory role.Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Strong ability to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking.Results-driven with strong attention to detail.Proficient in Microsoft Office and related production systems.
