JOB SUMMARY :
- We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Part-time Manufacturing Engineering Specialist IV (20 – 24 hours per week), to support production, engineering, and quality initiatives across our AV and medical device product lines.
- This challenging role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, process development skills, and a background in testing and service of complex electro-mechanical and software-based systems.
- The successful candidate will be a key contributor to driving improvements in manufacturability, efficiency, and compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Support production with technical troubleshooting of fiber-optic AV and medical systems.Develop and optimize manufacturing and test procedures for new and existing products.Draft and maintain detailed work instructions, including for assembly and software installation.Investigate and resolve non-conformances and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.Design and implement fixtures and tools to improve build quality and repeatability.Perform system testing and FAT in accordance with defined protocols.Interface with R&D and Quality teams to implement process validation (IQ / OQ / PQ).Contribute to continuous improvement projects and lead small-scale productivity initiatives.Maintain documentation for work orders, calibration records, and preventive maintenance dashboards.Provide technical support for returned units (RMA) and service / repair activities.Job responsibilities within our organization are dynamic. B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 4+ years in a manufacturing engineering support role.Experience with medical devices or regulated manufacturing environments.Working knowledge of ISO 13485, ESD handling, and cleanroom procedures.SKILLS, ABILITIES, & ATTRIBUTES :
Proficient in troubleshooting hardware / software systems, and PCBA work.Ability to interpret technical drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and test protocols.Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools; CAD / SolidWorks and VBA / Access experience is a plus.Strong documentation and communication skills.Ability to commit and work under deadlines Willingness and demonstrated ability to learn and work in new technology domains.Must be able to work in a challenging and engaging work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, accountability, and professional development.BENEFITS :
