Join Our Home Care Equipment Team as a Mobility Equipment Technician – Fixing Equipment to Change Lives

FTE Status : Full-Time 1.00 FTE (40 hours / week)
Work Schedule : Monday to Friday 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm or 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm with no weekends or holidays

Bellin Health’s Home Care Equipment team is currently seeking a Mobile Equipment Technician who is instrumental in the success of our patient care . As a Mobility Equipment Technician, you will be assigned to driving a company's vehicle with the responsibility of providing quality customer care and offering Power mobility equipment / supply services, and repairs of our equipment. You will also be accountable for distributing the equipment and supplies to various locations, such as patient homes, assisted living facilities or warehouses. You will also be accountable for managing the workflow of the department and ensuring you are exceeding customer expectations. This is a unique role in that you interact with the patients and do some teaching of the equipment but also have the ability to troubleshoot and enhance the patient’s quality of life.
On a given day as a Mobility Technician, you will play the role of a troubleshooter, educator, and advocate for the patients. You will spend time :
- Loading, unloading, and setting up different home care equipment
- Providing demonstrations and client teaching on the various equipment
- Conducting equipment maintenance and repair
- Performing assessments and inspections on a variety of power mobility equipment, including wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, and stair lifts.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and defects, and perform necessary repairs promptly to ensure the safe and efficient operation of mobility aids
- Assemble, adjust, and modify mobility devices to meet individual patient needs, ensuring proper fit and functionality
- Maintaining accurate records of equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, repairs performed, and patient interactions
- Providing exceptional customer service by delivering and setting up mobility equipment for patients at their homes, ensuring proper usage and addressing any concerns or questions
- Educating patients and their caregivers on the proper use, care, and maintenance of mobility aids

Proven experience in the maintenance, repair, and delivery of mobility aids and equipment preferred, with a desire to obtain a certification in Power Mobility Repair and Basic Programming within two years of employmentStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsStrong compassionate and effective communication skillsSolid time management and organizational skillsEffective problem solving and decision-making skillsExcellent teamwork and collaboration skillsPhysical ability to lift and move heavy equipment, as well as navigate various home environmentsAbility to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environmentStrong computer / technology skillsValid driver’s license in the State of WisconsinWhy Bellin Health?
