Job description

Title : Procurement / Purchasing Manager

Key Responsibilities :

Supplier Management :

  • Identify, assess, and foster relationships with both new and existing suppliers.
  • Negotiate agreements, pricing structures, and terms to secure advantageous solutions and maximize value.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, proactively addressing any concerns related to quality, delivery schedules, or service levels.

Procurement & Inventory Control :

  • Secure the timely acquisition of essential materials, equipment, and services to facilitate uninterrupted operations.
  • Maintain ideal inventory levels and monitor stock to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Cost Management :

  • Analyze purchasing patterns to pinpoint opportunities for cost reduction and process enhancement.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to stay abreast of industry pricing, trends, and advancements.
  • Collaboration & Reporting :

  • Work closely with operations, finance, and logistics teams to align procurement activities with overarching business objectives.
  • Generate regular reports and provide insights on procurement activities and outcomes to management.
  • Daily Responsibilities :

    Processing Orders :

  • Review and process purchase requests from various departments.
  • Create and issue purchase orders to suppliers for raw materials, components, and other necessary items.
  • Confirm order specifications, pricing details, and delivery timelines with vendors.
  • Inbound & Shipping Coordination :

  • Coordinate inbound freight for incoming materials and supplies.
  • Liaise with suppliers and logistics providers to track shipments.
  • Ensure the prompt delivery of materials to maintain production schedules.
  • Inventory Management :

  • Monitor inventory levels to guarantee sufficient stock availability for production and order fulfillment.
  • Vendor Management :

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, delays, and any discrepancies.
  • Resolve issues concerning product quality, pricing discrepancies, or delivery challenges.
  • Coordination with Production & Warehouse Teams :

  • Confer with production managers to determine material requirements and production schedules.
  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel to oversee stock movement, storage, and order fulfillment.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to inventory discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods.
  • Data Management :

  • Maintain accurate records in inventory management systems, including updating stock levels and tracking movement.
  • Generate daily reports on inventory status, pending orders, and supplier performance.
  • Provide management with key analyses and reports related to purchasing and inventory control.
