General Description

Growing company in the Construction Industry seeks an experienced Construction Estimator. The Construction Estimator’s job involves conducting accurate cost analyses and estimations. They are responsible for preparing estimates for conceptual projects and conducting initial project coordination for awarded projects.

Minimum Qualifications Include :

Read and comprehend specifications and / or plans required to produce accurate estimates

Interpret plans and construction materials to propose and double-check estimates

Gather, calculate, and compile take-off data for use in bids and proposals

Assist with any correspondence needed to prepare estimates

Prepare and present bid packages and proposals for customers on or before due dates according to specifications

Update and maintain subcontractors and suppliers in data base

Upon project being awarded, initial project coordination through budget and buy out phases.

Budget phase will include working with accounting and project management personnel to accurately set up overall project budget prior to project commencement

Buy out phase will include working in project management software to send out contracts and other correspondence prior to project commencement

• Analyze and update pricing from estimate vs actual reporting on historical and ongoing projects

May visit job sites if needed to get a better understanding of project scope and / or overall trade specific practices.

May attend pre-construction meetings if needed.

Preferred Qualifications

2 to 4 years of construction experience

Construction related Degree a plus (not required)

Knowledge of hardscape materials and products a plus

Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Take-off and / or project management software a plus

Excellent written and oral communication skills, organization, and time management

Excellent work ethic, team player mentality, ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Rate of pay dependent upon experience and skill set.
