Role description

Arcadis is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager to support our Federal Program. This position is designed for an individual with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction, environmental, remediation, or safety field and is familiar with heavy equipment operation and large-scale remedial / construction activity at Federal facilities. This position can be based anywhere in the U.S. and will require up to 30% travel to project sites throughout the U.S.

As a Federal HSE Manager with Arcadis, you will collaborate with project teams and contribute to safety processes and procedures, add value through insight to improve and audit processes, and assist in preparation and review of proposals, reports, and accident prevention plans (APPs). You will review scopes of work and provide H&S statistics, and gain experience across environmental projects for diverse market sectors. Career growth is tied to your skills and drive for success.

Role accountabilities

As an HSE Manager for the Arcadis Federal Program, you will :

• Manage and oversee site safety and health officers (SSHOs) during environmental investigations, remediation, and construction activities in accordance with OSHA, Federal client, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) EM 385 1-1 and Arcadis policies and procedures.
• Evaluate risk across the Federal Program and conduct audits to manage risk.
• Identify and train SSHOs within the Arcadis project staff network.
• Develop and maintain a digital library of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) forms.
• Support Project Managers with technical assistance, quality checks, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead project H&S kick-off and daily meetings; develop and review H&S plans (HASPs, APPs, SSHPs, AHAs) and assign H&S plan authors; respond to client RTCs.
• Conduct worker and task observations to identify unsafe behaviors and work with teams to mitigate hazards.
• Participate in incident investigations (near misses and accidents) using methods such as 5 Whys and Root Cause Analysis; follow client reporting and investigation requirements.

Salary range for this position is $94,944 - $185,616. Actual salaries vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
