Duties / Responsibilities :
- Works with software to input data, generate work tickets, closeout service orders and run reports.
- Conveys urgent and emergency customer requests to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains filing system for completed service orders and other documentation as directed.
- Oversees equipment availability; assigns drivers, trucks, and extra drivers when needed.
- Anticipates weather complications along routes and at the drivers' destinations; communicates delays and route changes as necessary.
- Maintains radio and / or phone contact with drivers; receives and dispatches response and emergency aid when needed.
- Monitors drivers working hours to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Presents a professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with customers, co-workers, and supervision.
- Maintains effective communication with management, employees, and customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
U.S. Citizenship.Ability to obtain and maintain base access.Submit to and successfully pass pre-employment drug test and background check.Valid state driver's license.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum three years demonstrated experience performing as a dispatcher in an environment of similar scope and complexity.
