CNC Machinist

Location : Santa Ana, CA

Pay :
$31-$38 hourly (DOE)

Employment Type : Full-time

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our precision machinist client. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC mills and / or lathes while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of machining principles, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis equipment) to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.

Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).

Make necessary adjustments to machine offsets, tooling, and feed rates to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.

Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, surface finish, and tolerances.

Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of CNC machines.

Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and production supervisors to optimize machining processes.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience : 2-5 years of experience in CNC machining, preferably in aerospace, medical, automotive, or high-precision manufacturing.

Technical Skills : Strong proficiency in G-code programming, blueprint reading, and GD&T. Experience with Fanuc, Haas, or Siemens controls is a plus.

Quality Focus : Knowledge of precision measuring tools and inspection techniques. Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other industry standards is a plus.

Problem-Solving : Ability to diagnose and correct machining issues with minimal supervision.

Attention to Detail : Commitment to producing high-quality components with tight tolerances.

Physical Requirements : Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a machine shop environment with exposure to noise, oils, and coolants.

Work Authorization : Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. in compliance with federal and California employment laws.
