Security Specialist (Title 5)
This is a National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position. This National Guard position is for a Security Specialist (Title 5), Position Description Number T6008000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard. Responsibilities include implementing and administering the SAP information security program, serving as a security professional for the development, testing, fielding, and protection of advanced and special access program technologies, researching, interpreting, analyzing and applying security guidelines for local application, developing and implementing security plans and procedures, conducting and documenting regular self inspections of SAP facilities and operations, assessing the SAP security posture, maintaining Top Secret control accounts, leading or performing security investigations for incidents involving the actual or possible loss, compromise, or inadvertent disclosure of classified information, and providing security oversight and direction to lower grade program managers.
Requirements include being in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title 5, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA), being open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Air Force meet mission requirements, and successfully completing all Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) conferrals within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position. Must have a Top Secret clearance prior to appointment and be eligible to obtain and maintain SCI. Specialized experience includes at least one year experience at the GS-09 level in the normal line of progression through federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, experience in research and analysis reports on physical, information, computer, and personnel security, experience in conducting intelligence support operations, experience implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information programs and to protect sensitive compartmented information resources, and experience which demonstrates knowledge as a technical specialist on sensitive compartmented information security matters, as well as, other areas of classified security and classification guidance. Education requirements include providing transcripts or other documentation to support Educational claims and providing documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience : Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
