Experience Director
Your mission is to lead placemaking, events, meetings, and conferences within one of Chicago's most exciting workplace destinations - all designed to foster a sense of community within the building and to pull the public into it for exciting events. You'll manage a Meetings & Events Manager who will manage those onsite operations, and you will serve as a trusted partner to tenants, property management, and building ownership. With every moment you curate, you help redefine what it feels like to come to the office.
The legacy you'll leave is that your building's vibe and amenities became the heartbeat of the building. You inspired tenants to engage more deeply with their workplace, making coming to the office feel intentional, energizing, and personal. You helped your tenants discover they could thrive at work. Your programming brought purpose to the calendar, your hospitality elevated every interaction, and your partnerships brought the best of Chicago into the building. You built lasting relationships across all the various stakeholder groups you partnered with, and you were a true reason they continued to work with Playbook.
What you're responsible for includes :
- High-performing amenity programs : Operate and optimize the building's amenities, including meeting and event space, conferencing, and a game room. Ensure seamless daily execution, driving growth in both utilization and monthly revenue performance.
- Engaging, brand-aligned programming : Curate and execute monthly tenant events that drive connection and community. Maintain high attendance and satisfaction while managing your programming budget with precision and efficiency.
- Trusted client and tenant relationships : Build strong relationships with property management, leasing, ownership, and the tenants you see every day. Proactively gather feedback, generate tailored recommendations, and deliver monthly reports that demonstrate impact.
- Effective communication and marketing : Implement tenant-facing communication strategies, including newsletters, signage, and digital campaigns, that drive awareness, participation, and revenue. Engage the surrounding community with the building through public outreach and activations.
- Strategic partnerships : Establish and manage relationships with local vendor partners to enhance event offerings and the tenant experience while supporting and pulling in the community surrounding your building.
Who you are - baseline expectations include :
5+ years of experience in hospitality, event planning, or community management. Experience working in or adjacent to commercial real estate is a plus.Experience managing budgets and interpreting P&L reports.Experience creating and presenting operational and financial reports summarizing key metrics and trends across our services.Proficient in Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Gmail).Comfortable using new and evolving technology systems for membership management.Confidence using marketing tools like Marq, Canva, or templated platformsWho you are - core competencies include :
