Aide : Newcomer Academy

Primary Purpose :

Assist interventionist teacher in providing interventions, assist with keeping track of materials and student progress, attend periodic training and participate in data meetings regarding reading interventions and student progress and other administrative requirements. Work under minimal supervision of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education / Certificate

High School diploma or GED (Recognized by the Texas Education Agency or Regional Accrediting Agency)

Valid Texas Educational Aide certificate or 48 completed semester hours at an institution of higher education

Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50) paid by employee.

Knowledge / Skills :

Bilingual preferred (read, write, listen, speak in English and Spanish)

Ability to work well with children

Ability to communicate effectively

Experience :

Experience working with children
