Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create pre‑call plans using SMART objectives and execute post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings and concerns and consistently gain logical and reasonable calls to action to close on every sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs, expectations and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers, maximizing access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments / dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise, and share this intelligence with in‑field team, brand team and sales manager to achieve alignment, anticipate environmental changes, and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop and maintain disease‑state experts and speakers / advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business‑related field preferred, or relevant industry experience required.At least five (5) years of experience (or equivalent) with at least three (3) years within the pharmaceutical / health / science industry; high school diploma / GED required.In‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders. Strong business acumen, strategic and critical thinking, and proficiency with business tools.Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills. Adapts quickly to customer style / behavior, provides impactful ideas, and anticipates / responds to change.Influences others, viewed as a credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team, leads by example, and consistently displays positive behaviors.Documented success in leadership / support roles with increased responsibility at district, region or organizational levels.Preferred : Proven track record in sales performance within therapeutic areas; commercial pharmaceutical experience (physician / account based selling, training, managed healthcare or marketing).English language proficiency verbally and in writing.Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements (background checks, drug screens, immunizations, licensing, etc.).Valid driver’s license, ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements. Must have a personal or company vehicle or equipment.Key Stakeholders
External : Specialty Physicians in therapeutic brand area, pharmacists, nurses, and others depending on brand plan.Internal : In‑field team members, Sales Management (DSM), Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, and Brand Plan stakeholders.Additional Information
The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting, based on the job grade for this position.
