Job Summary
The Master Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of production builds on a specified production line, utilizing such factors as customer orders, takt time, setup time and master production plan.
Job Duties
- Review and maintain the master production schedule for a given production line and associated MRP generated schedule
- Maintain a weekly “order board” for assigned production line
- Assist in problem solving efforts regarding customer emergencies or failure to meet customer needs by finding additional work orders to pull into the schedule
- Assist in resolving conflicts in meeting the client’s production schedule
- Work in concert with internal customer service associate as well as account management when customer needs cannot be met
- Maintain pull list for assigned production line
- Communicate status of work orders to purchasing, production and stockroom teams and escalate issues that would jeopardize the planned production schedule
- Expedite production schedule to ensure production plan start / completion is completed on time per internal scheduled ship dates
- Review customer demand against upcoming production schedule to meet demand and improve efficiency through economic production quantities
- Participate in A3 problem solving to improve product quality
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education / Experience
High school degree required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred5+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of department flow procedure and overall cycle routineProficient in MPS, MRP and inventory systemsHigh level of motivation and accountability, strong organizational and follow-up skillsAdvanced Excel and strong knowledge of Google WorkspaceFinancial understanding of material margins, material receipts and impact of cash flow based on production schedule
