High School Program Coordinator
Under direction of the Director, responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and directing high school joint programs, including budgetary, personnel and operational activities. Entails managing academic partnerships with high schools, Fast Start, Tech Prep, and coordinating college-wide K-12 activities / initiatives.
Responsibilities
Dual Enrollment and Early College High School
- Coordinate and administer college-wide K-12 activities and initiatives. Assess each proposal for compatibility with Brookdale curriculum and make recommendations to the Director.
- Develop and implement partnership agreements through consultation with the Director, Brookdale faculty and school representatives.
- Administer, plan, and implement student related components of high school to community college transitional programs, such as Tech Prep, Dual Enrollment, Early College, and Fast Start.
- With the Director, act as College liaison with County and out-of-county high schools.
- Communicate with local high schools on recruitment, curriculum maintenance / modification, student progress toward certificate / degree / graduation and other activities related to high school operations.
- Establish and maintain state level initiatives aimed at enhancing collaborative partnerships between local school districts and Brookdale, such as the 12th grade option. (Develop state level initiatives that will enhance the high school to Brookdale such as the 12th grade option.)
- Work with Brookdale faculty to coordinate high school and community college curriculum and professional development, to ensure curriculum viability and student success.
- Introduce career exploration and aptitude testing to Tech Prep. Review and edit existing Tech Prep agreements to ensure viability and currency.
- Oversee compliance of agreements, from faculty assessment of high school students' work, to recording of student credit earned.
- Serve as a resource to provide information about and understanding of trends in high school career programs and student goals.
Departmental Support
Maintain records of student activities utilizing the College's Data Management System (Colleague) and other high school management software.Work with the Grants office to develop grants which will support unit initiative : administer grants Inform. CPS of potential non-credit contract program opportunities.Establish a comprehensive database of school / college activities, partnerships, and relationships as they pertain to Monmouth County school districts.Actively participate in appropriate national, state, and regional association activities.Supervise staff including the planning, training, assignment and review of work. Monitor, review, and evaluate work performance and participate in the hiring process.Participate in Regional Sites and Partnerships department-wide initiatives as needed.Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education :
Bachelor's degree.Experience :
Five years of related work experience, preferably in higher education administration or educational partnerships program administration.Experience in high school counseling is preferred.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to develop working relationships with diverse prospects, students, family members, community members, professionals, and all staff constituents.High level of diplomacy and confidentiality.Demonstrated commitment to integrative management and strategic thinking.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with discretion, tact and timeliness.Ability to learn detailed knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulations as well as the College procedures, policies and regulations.Proven computer literate with proficiency in utilizing and applying Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point as well as specialized software programs and computer applications.Ability to travel locally and to other sites.Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations :
