Associate Director of Sales, Hospitality and Events

Join to apply for the Associate Director of Sales, Hospitality and Events role at Access . The position is based in Chicago, IL but offers remote work with a focus on nurturing vendor and venue partnerships and developing new relationships in the Chicago and Northeast market.

About the Job

As an Associate Director of Sales at Access, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of a division of the Sales team to ensure key objectives and revenue goals are met.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Achieve sales metrics through thoughtful and strategic leadership
  • Develop and train on effective sales strategies
  • Maintain and build strategic partnerships with key customers, including hotel partners
  • Lead the hiring, training and development of a high‑performing sales team
  • Liaise with all department leaders
  • Conduct annual and bi‑annual reviews of all Sales department team members and give recommendations for promotion and discipline
  • Educate and motivate team members to hit key company and individual sales performance indicators
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasting on a quarterly / annual basis
  • Define and refine ongoing sales training for new and tenured team members
  • Engage with clients during pre‑sale, development and execution stages to increase overall win rate and percentage of repeat business
  • Uphold the Access Values (Imagine First, Demand Integrity, Embody Excellence, Always Collaborate, Service Obsession)
  • Work with the Managing Director to create synergy among all departments

About You

Nice‑to‑haves :

  • 6+ years of proven sales success in a DMC or related hospitality or events industry
  • Salesforce power‑user with deep understanding of the platform and ability to create custom reports
  • Verifiable knowledge and relationships in the specific local destination
  • Successful negotiation and relationship‑building skills
  • At least 2 years of experience leading high‑performing sales teams and achieving revenue targets
  • Solution‑oriented mindset : proactive, self‑motivated and collaborative
  • Customer service obsession and passion for hospitality and special events
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, both internally and externally
  • Flexibility to thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment while meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations
