Job Summary

The Staff Research Associate 3 or Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst for the Good Manufacturing Practice Facility at the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento will be responsible supporting the development and execution of quality assurance standards and documentation. The candidate will work closely with all GMP units to meet quality requirements and guidelines. They will also be responsible for the release of final products that meet all applicable quality standards and to manage a variety of responsibilities to achieve GMP related project goals.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and / or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or related scientific field or discipline.
  • Equivalent science or cell biology experience acquired through a prolonged course of instruction and relevant work.
  • Quality Control and Quality Assurance experience required.
  • Science lab administration experience required.
  • Verifies results, monitors for completeness, accuracy, clinical validity, legibility, documentation, and transcription errors.
  • Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Control requirements in a GMP laboratory setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GMP manufacturing and storage of products preferred.
  • Knowledge of proper product documentation and labeling at a GMP level preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate and verify results, monitor for completeness and accuracy required.
  • Required knowledge of computer word processing, data management, and spreadsheet software.

  • Department Overview

    The Good Manufacturing Practice Facility (GMP) is a large operation within the Stem Cell Program at the UC Davis Health campus in Sacramento and is the largest academic GMP facility in Northern California. The purpose of the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Facility is to manufacture clinical grade stem cell and other cellular therapy products, gene therapy products, pharmaceutical products and formulations for novel or routine patient treatment and clinical trials under strict adherence to FDA regulations. The GMP facility currently manufactures products for UC Davis investigators as well as outside academic investigators and industry clients.
