Fire-Dex is a family-owned company headquartered in Ohio with a primary manufacturing facility located in Pelham, Georgia. Our four operations facilities specialize in creating head-to-toe firefighter protective gear for first responders worldwide. Our Gear Wash subsidiary is the world’s largest Independent Service Provider (ISP) for gear care and maintenance, we ensure that firefighters’ equipment remains in top condition. Our offerings include turnout gear, alternative PPE, boots, hoods, gloves, and helmets. We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Quality Control Associate to join our team. In this role, the Quality Control Associate is responsible for executing and maintaining quality assurance functions specific to their site. This role ensures that all products meet internal and customer quality standards through inspections, documentation, and process control. The associate will support continuous improvement efforts and uphold the integrity compliance, quality systems and records.
Hours :
Monday through Friday :
- Monday through Thursday : 7 : 00 am - 4 : 30 pm
- Friday : 7 : 00 am – 11 : 00 am – start your weekend earlier
Responsibilities Include :
Conduct in-process inspections of garments to ensure compliance with quality standards and specificationsIdentify, report, and assist in the resolution of nonconforming materials and productsPreparation of samples for compliance submission and testingReview and communicate findings from Returned Goods Authorizations (RGAs) and customer complaintsCollaborate with production and quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actionsSupport internal audits and participate in external audits as neededSupport team members on proactive Quality Improvement projectsPrepare and maintain quality reports and metrics for site leadership and the Quality ManagerPromote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the sitePerform other related duties and assignments as requiredCandidates should possess the following :
Minimum High school diploma, general education degree (GED)1–3 years of experience in quality control, preferably in garment or textile manufacturingFamiliarity with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and inspection techniquesHighly skilled in Microsoft applications, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint and ability to learn new software programs and systemsAbility to travel up to 10% of the time, including overnightsExperience with problem solvingAbility to work positively in teams as well as possess self-accountabilityOpen and effective communicator and collaborator with all levels of the organization, including verbally and written, including being a team player and having a professional interface with others, getting results through collaborationEfficient with multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities, including being productive while handling re-directions and interruptions, based upon business needsStrong sense of urgency, follow-through, and diligence, including meeting deadlines and have the ability to remain organized with and keep track of multiple sources of information and dataPossess a high attention to detail and proficient at record-keepingFlexibility in day to dayBenefits Include :
