A Recreational Therapist is responsible for delivering therapeutic recreation programs that support the emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being of patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum : Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum : 2+ years of experience in recreational therapy, preferably in a behavioral health setting.
• Required : Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
• Helpful : Additional certification in specialized therapy modalities (such as music therapy, art therapy or adventure therapy)
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatment models, including trauma-informed care.
