Position Title : Special Education Teacher – Cross-Categorical (Elementary)
Schedule : Full-Time | Monday–Friday | School-Day Hours
Location : Elementary School | On-Site
We’re looking for a compassionate and dynamic Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher to join our elementary team. In this full-time role, you’ll support students with a range of learning needs by providing individualized instruction, implementing data-driven interventions, and fostering academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
Key responsibilities for this role include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that align with student goals and district standards. The successful candidate will deliver direct instruction in core academic areas such as reading, writing, and math using evidence-based practices, while also supporting students in building essential social, emotional, behavioral, and executive functioning skills to foster independence. This position requires close collaboration with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to create inclusive learning opportunities. Additionally, the role involves adapting curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students across multiple disability categories, maintaining accurate documentation of student progress and compliance, and participating in IEP meetings, data team discussions, and ongoing professional development to enhance instructional effectiveness.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates should have demonstrated experience as a Special Education Teacher or in a related educational role, with a strong foundation in supporting students with diverse learning needs and disabilities. A valid Illinois teaching license in Special Education is required. Candidates must hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, while a master’s degree in Special Education or a related field is preferred.
