Job description

Caf Manager

Join our team at Emory University as a Caf Manager, where you'll lead a team of food service professionals in delivering an exceptional dining experience. You'll oversee operations in the main dining room and support special events, ensuring quality service, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead daily dining operations for a medium to large-volume caf.
  • Deliver outstanding guest service; handle and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Partner with the culinary team to plan menus, execute high-quality food offerings, and roll out new culinary programs.
  • Support budgeting, financial reporting, and P&L management.
  • Uphold high standards in sanitation, food safety, and infection control.
  • Coordinate with marketing and culinary departments to drive innovation and boost sales.
  • Ensure the caf's food program aligns with the company's vision.
  • Prepare and present quarterly performance updates to clients.
  • Contribute to facility-wide service planning and integration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 2 years of food service management experience.
  • Background in restaurants, hospitality, corporate dining, healthcare, education, or military settings.
  • Prior table service and catering experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food quality, trends, sanitation, cost control, and presentation.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid financial and budgeting acumen.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
  • Associate degree preferred.
