Position Summary : The Assisted Living Nursing Manager’s primary responsibility is managing the nursing care for the customers of the Assisted Living Facility. The ALF Nursing Manager works under the direction and guidance of the facility’s ALF Administrator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Coordinates all nursing assisted living care programs and provide the assurance of continuity of nursing care and nursing service
2. Responsible for ensuring assisted living facility is in compliance with state and federal agency requirements pertaining to clinical matters
3. Performs pre-admission resident assessment to determine appropriateness for the ALF facility and as appropriate, establish baseline level of care
4. Perform ongoing assessments of customer status, effectiveness of intervention and the ability to meet goals / outcomes as often as necessary and / or required
5. Provide customer and family teaching, wellness counseling, health promotion, and disease prevention
6. Generate referrals to other professionals as needed including a referral to a licensed home health agency if the customer’s condition dictates need. Maintain collaboration with Hospice, as needed
7. Listens to customer and family concerns and facilitates solutions in consultation with the ALFOAC
8. Ensures availability of nursing services on a twenty-four (24) hour basis as needed and / or required
9. Responsible for obtaining and verifying physician orders and updates for necessary changes to service plan including medications
10. Administers medication under the written order of a physician or health care practitioner with applicable statutory authority
11. Assure the safety and security of patients through the proper use of equipment, safety devices, and by knowing and following fire, safety and disaster procedures
12. Responsible for interviewing potential new hires, written performance evaluations, orientations, teaching, and supervision of ALF Med-Tech team members
13. Responsible for payroll oversight and related approvals for ALF Med-Tech team members
14. Develop customer service standards and instructions targeted to consistency of care and service for ALF MedTech team members
15. Responsible for confidential maintenance of customer records
16. Assumes the responsibility to maintain and upgrade professional knowledge and skills through continuing education materials and programs
17. Liaise with Doctors for labs and ensure timely follow up

Required Education / Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of progressive nursing experience
Graduate from accredited School of Nursing
Valid State License
Valid CPR Certification
Preferred Education / Experience
College / University Degree in Nursing or a related field
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a leadership role
Experience in an Assisted Living Community or similar
