About the Team

We believe that great user experiences come from people who have the vision to see the big picture on the macro side while still maintaining incredible attention to detail on the micro side. Our Ads Manager team is building best-in-class advertising workflows to help democratize connected TV for businesses of all sizes. The team goal is to grow platform adoption, scale customer success, and make it easy for nearly anyone to grow their business through the biggest screen in the house. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and refine user interactions that create the intersection of what our customers need and what our world-class engineers can produce, while keeping things as elegant and easy as possible.

About the Role

We're seeking a talented UX Product Designer to join our Roku Ads Manager team, who can craft easy to use and delightful user experiences across our Ads Manager platform. Weare looking for an independent individual who is both capable of driving projects forward autonomously and actively collaborating with multiple stakeholders from start to finish . You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, as well as other designers to design and refine user interactions that elevate the Ads Manager experience.

Note : Roku only offers two titles : “UX Product Designer” and “Senior UX Product Designer”.To be considered for the Senior title, a candidate should have at least six years of industry experience.

What you’ll be doing

Utilizing innovative design approaches and crafting scalable designs that are assessed with thorough research and analysis of product data.

Collaboratively gather requirements to own user-centered experience flows, fostering the cross-pollination of ideas across product teams.

Collaborate closely with Product Managers to identify the problems, business objectives, and user outcomes that your designs will effectively address.

Utilize critical user journeys to effectively guide and frame your design approaches.

Partner with User Researchers to identify and implement the optimal research methodology for evaluating your designs.

Take ownership of your designs and communicate effectively by articulating your design decisions to colleagues from various disciplines.

Participate in regular design critiques with your peers to actively give and receive feedback, fostering a collaborative environment for continuous improvement.

Collaborate closely with engineers to effectively communicate designs, ensuring a thorough and comprehensive evaluation process.

We’re excited if you have

Expertise and relevant industry experience, especially in B2B software products or handling complex B2C workflows.

Strong background as a Product Designer with hands-on experience contributing to multiple successfully launched products, a nd the ability to discuss your specific contributions in a compelling way.

Ability to excel in ambiguous environments, thriving amidst uncertainty, and enthusiastically embracing opportunities for rapid design iteration.

Exhibit a genuine passion for innovation and a keen ability to balance creative vision with strategic and business objectives.

Possess hands-on experience collaborating with Product Managers, engineers, UX writers, and UX Researchers, or alternatively, conducting user research yourself, and adeptly leveraging the insights gained from such research to shape and inform your design decisions.

Display an unwavering empathy for the user, showcasing a deep understanding of their needs, motivations, and aspirations throughout the design process.

Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

3+ years’ experience and the ability to work independently with the Product and UX teams.

Hiring Process

For thisProduct Designrole, we typically start withcallfrom your dedicated Roku recruiter. Then you’ll have a follow-up call withthe Hiring Manager (UX Design Manager). After that, we’ll ask you to do a45-minute portfolio presentation to a panel of key stakeholders. In this presentation,we’llwant you to walk us through a couple of projects you’ve done that you’re especially proud of. You’ll tell us what your role was, what your process was, what went well and what didn’t, how it turned out, and what you learned from it. Then you’ll have one-on-one meetings with the key stakeholders, and that’s it! Throughout the process, your Roku recruiter will be there for you every step of the way.
