What You Will Achieve :
Organogenesis is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team. The Staff Accountant will be a key member involved in the month-end close process, including preparing monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis, review vendor and subcontractor invoices, financial analysis, as well as internal and external reporting requirements. This role will also work cross-functionally with all departments including accounting, FP&A and operations. This role will report to the Director of Accounting and Operations. This position is hybrid and based in our Canton, MA office.
How You Will Achieve It :
- Support the monthly close process, including the preparation and posting of journal entries as well as maintenance of support schedules
- Completion of account reconciliations including research on adequacy of account balances, including reconciliations of bank statements, prepaid accounts, and other general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy, and analysis of fluctuations over prior periods and review
- Provide meaningful and accurate financial analysis on specific accounts on a monthly basis through preparation of variance reports
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies under U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements
- Assist in the preparation and filing of public reports including 10-K and 10-Q and prepare detailed work papers to support financial statement disclosures and SEC filings
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist with SOX 404 internal control documentation and testing
- Collaborate with external audit staff for quarter-end reviews and year-end audit work
- Act as a key team member representing the Accounting department in the ERP implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Handle clerical and administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and organizing financial documents to maintain a well-organized finance function
- Support ad hoc financial analyses and projects assigned by the Director of Accounting and Operations
