This is a full-time, day-shift position working Mon-Fri from 5 : 30am-2pm. No call. MUST have 2 years of experience in Orthopedics (working in an orthopedic office, working with vendors for orthopedic surgery hardware, preparing equipment needed for surgical procedure, etc.)

Job Summary : Oversees the daily activities and operations of assigned staff and provides assistance with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a registered nurse or provider (physician or advanced practice provider).

Job Responsibilities and Requirements :

• Creates work schedules and determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage.
• Trains and coaches assigned staff. Provides input for hiring and termination procedures.
• Ensures adequate supply levels are maintained. Manages product usage.
• Performs monthly inventory of durable medical equipment and medication injections.
• Applies and removes splints and casts.
• Repairs, maintains and adjusts casting material during treatment regimen as necessary for patient safety and comfort.
• Assesses cast material needs and application techniques for patients.
• Measures and fits patients for hinged braces, orders appliances and documents measurements and results.
• Provides patient and family education regarding cast / splint application, care and removal.
• Documents events in the patient's medical record (blood pressures, etc.). Respects and maintains confidentiality of patient's medical record.
• Provides escort for orthopedic patients within clinic when necessary.
• Participates in telephone screening of cast patients for cast education, referral to nurse, physician and appointment desk.
• Assists with surgical procedures done in the procedure room.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education : High School diploma / GED or 10 years of work experience

Experience : Two years of relevant orthopedic experience
