Independent Private Equity firm seeking an Associate to join a growing investment team based in NY. The Associate will support investment analysis, due diligence, and the execution of buyouts of lower middle market business services companies. The ideal candidate will have served in an analyst / associate capacity in an investment bank or financial advisory firm focused on serving small-cap private companies.
Responsibilities :
- Build dynamic fund models, including underwriting analysis of ongoing transactions on which the team is working (Memo writing, financial modelling, Market research, Expert calls)
- Construct and present briefing materials to the investment committee, including transaction overview, merits and risks, reference call takeaways, market pricing analysis, and financial outputs and sensitivities
- Facilitate diligence with clients, draft marketing materials such as a Confidential Information Memorandum, build financial projection model(s) and model returns to prospective investors, prepare Virtual Data Rooms
- Construct, analyze, and modify detailed financial and LBO models and returns analyses
- Prepare and present investment memos to the Investment Committee
- Conduct market and industry research on both a primary and secondary research basis
- Prepare term sheets and letters of intent; Coordinate the execution of transactions through all parties involved.
- Supporting investment sourcing, client service requests, portfolio monitoring, and other organizational processes.

200k-$275k total compensation.
