Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg travel position on a renal / gastro unit, requiring a NJ or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital Med / Surg renal / gastro unit

Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7p - 7a schedule

Care for a patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric

Epic is the EMR used in this setting

Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital

Responsible for thorough patient assessments and care planning across various ages

Duties include documentation, perioperative care, patient education, and safe use of emergency equipment

Must adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and HIPAA guidelines

Expected to maintain professionalism and contribute to a patient-centered, team-oriented environment

Assignment duration is limited to one calendar year, with a required break before returning

Requirements

Active NJ or compact RN license required

Minimum of 1 year Med / Surg nursing experience

Current BLS certification required

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred

Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals)

Experience with Epic charting preferred
