Wunsche Bros. isn’t your average kitchen — and we’re not looking for your average chef.

We’re searching for a Sous Chef who thrives under pressure, takes full ownership of their kitchen, and understands that real leadership means building others up—not just barking orders. If you’ve got a deep respect for scratch cooking, live-fire grilling, and know how to lead a crew with confidence, this is your shot.

You run the kitchen like it’s your name on the door.

You take initiative, solve problems before they become problems, and hold your team to a high standard.

You communicate clearly, directly, and professionally—whether it’s with line cooks, dishwashers, or ownership.

You’re hands-on : from managing the fire pit to training a new prep cook, you lead by doing.

Responsibilities Include :

Run all live-fire cooking operations : build fires, manage heat, and smoke meats to perfection

Train, mentor, and hold your team accountable setting the tone every shift

Collaborate with ownership and the General Manager on menu planning, cost control, and daily specials

Handle all BOH operations : ordering, prep sheets, inventory, cleaning, labor management

Uphold high standards for food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization

Be the calm in the chaos when things get busy—and bring others with you

Butcher proteins, ensure portioning, control waste, and execute every plate with consistency

Step up when others fall short—we don’t micromanage here, this is your kitchen to lead

Who You Are :

You’ve got 5+ years of experience in high-volume, scratch kitchens

You’ve worked with smokers, wood fire pits, or live-fire grilling for at least 5 years

You’re organized, focused, and calm under pressure

You communicate like a pro and bring out the best in every cook on your team

You know how to coach, correct, and inspire—not just criticize

You’re passionate about food, people, and putting out plates you’re proud of

You’re not looking for a job—you’re looking to build a legacy with a team that has your back

What We Offer :

Job Type : Full-time, Salaried

Pay : Starting at $55,000+ (based on experience)

Schedule : Consistent schedule

Work Location : In-person | Spring, TX 77373

(Must be able to reliably commute or relocate prior to starting)
