We are looking for a QC Laboratory Technician Apprentice to join our Care Chemicals team in Spartanburg, SC.

As a Laboratory Technician in our White Stone, SC surfactants plant, you will make an impact on the world with a fundamental focus on sustainability. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be a part of a team which manufactures surfactants for the personal care and cleaning industries. Materials produced at this site have gone into many products used in the fight against COVID-19, including soaps and disinfectants.

Starting in January, 2026, you...

Will begin a BASF specific academic program at USC-Upstate while working and learning on site in our White Stone, SC surfactants site from some of the best in the business. During your time here we don't want you to sweat the small stuff so BASF will cover the entire cost of your educational program, including books!

When you're not studying and starting in September 2025 you will have opportunities to...

Test raw materials, in-process samples, and final products; perform routine calculations for process adjustments as needed.

Accurately record data in databases like SAP and communicate test results to internal and external customers.

Standardize all reagents used in the laboratory and maintain supplies, including safe disposal of waste.

Conduct internal standard testing for laboratory equipment and report any unsafe conditions or behaviors.

Unpack, store reagents and supplies upon receipt, and communicate needs for ordering.

Clean glassware, maintain general housekeeping, and file raw material and product batch sheets.

If you...

Hold a high school diploma or GED.

Are willing to work in a chemical plant environment, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods.

Are able to work 12-hour shifts (day or night, including weekends and holidays).

Are willing to enroll in an academic program to pursue a career in manufacturing.

Have experience with computers, including spreadsheets, databases, and MS Office.

Can work effectively in a team environment and maintain attendance for all assigned shifts.
