Purchasing Specialist
The Purchasing Specialist will serve as the crucial link between Global Supply Management (GSM) and the local North Carolina Supply Chain (NCSC) operations. This role is responsible for ensuring continuous, reliable, and sustainable component supply from key US-based suppliers to support our critical server and rack manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)
- Manage and maintain the global supply sustainability for assigned US-based server / rack component suppliers.
- Execute Short-term Order Production Plan Supply Assurance to prevent immediate line-down scenarios and maintain planned output.
- Ensure Long-term System MRP (Material Requirements Planning) Supply Closure by continuously monitoring demand signals against supplier capacity and commitments.
- Act as the NCSC local supply representative from the GSM team, providing real-time, critical supply status updates to Order Engineering (OE), Customer Fulfillment (CF), and external customers.
- Present NCSC critical supply updates regularly and professionally to the management team and various cross-functional stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the Inventory Team to maintain a healthy and optimized NCSC parts inventory level, balancing service requirements with cost efficiency.
- Lead the trouble-shooting and resolution of any and all supply factors (delays, quality issues, logistics hurdles, etc.) by coordinating comprehensive efforts across GSM, Buying, Logistics, Quality, OE, Development, and Customer Fulfillment teams.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Materials Planning, preferably within the IT Infrastructure, Server, or Data Center industry.Proven experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and complex demand / supply forecasting.Excellent proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required for managing global suppliers and presenting to management.Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in supply Sustainability and risk management within a global manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of Logistics and inventory control principles.Familiarity with ISG product components (Servers, Racks, Storage).Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts.Strong presentation and Management communication skills.Visa Sponsorship : This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, including Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT).
