Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our team. This role involves conducting prescription reviews and ensuring data quality by verifying prescriptions going in and out of the pharmacy. The Pharmacist will verify all clinical, quality, and drug utilization reviews to ensure accuracy in medication, dose, strength, directions, quantity, safety, and patient information. This role also includes handling inbound and outbound calls with healthcare providers and pharmacies, as well as providing patient and family education on medication over the phone.
Responsibilities
Oversee pharmacy technician work by reviewing and interpreting physician orders to ensure correct drug dispensing.
Detect therapeutic incompatibilities and communicate with prescribers to confirm dosing and administration.
Identify and report adverse events and product complaints in accordance with pharmacy regulations.
Counsel patients on medication usage, potential adverse events, and strategies to minimize risks.
Conduct outreach and follow-up counseling as required by regulatory agencies.
Stay updated on pharmacy laws and complete continuing education for license renewal.
Ensure compliance with all applicable program guidelines.
Collaborate with call center and other program staff for effective operations.
Provide subject matter expertise to program staff and clients.
Maintain quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies.
Supervise and guide staff, providing performance reviews, goal development, and mentoring.
Essential Skills
Data entry and prescription review
Proficiency in pharmacy and pharmacology
Strong customer service and communication skills
Experience in a call center or high-volume environment
Knowledge of FDA health regulations
Attention to detail and focus on quality
Proficient in basic computer programs
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience as a Pharmacist in a retail or specialty pharmacy setting
B.S. Pharm degree required; PharmD preferred
Current and valid Pharmacist state license in good standing
Ability to handle multiple requests and ensure timely medication order fulfillment
Work Environment & Pay
This position is onsite at a closed-door, mail-order specialty pharmacy. The pharmacy ships high-cost, complex specialty drugs directly to patients' homes. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-10pm, with shifts potentially starting as early as 6am and future weekend work possible. Training is comprehensive, lasting up to four weeks, with specific hours from 3 : 00-11 : 00pm EST. Candidates must be available for the entire training period without planned time off. $60-65 / hr+

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00 / hr.
