iDEAL Hire is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Socorro, New Mexico.

Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location : Socorro, NM

Schedule / Job Type :

Night shifts / Full-time

Key Responsibilities :

Float between departments and local locations within 20 miles as required.

Assess triage patients over 20 weeks' gestation using obstetric acuity tools.

Conduct labor assessments and evaluations, including fetal monitoring and evaluation for signs of labor, preeclampsia, membrane rupture, fetal movement, vaginal bleeding, and other critical conditions.

Stabilize patients experiencing emergency medical conditions and coordinate transfer or delivery as needed.

Provide intrapartum care, including fetal assessment, medication administration (e.g., Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antibiotics), and preparation for delivery (scheduled or emergency cesarean).

Administer newborn medications, assist with immediate stabilization, and prepare for neonatal care procedures.

Conduct postpartum and neonatal assessments, including hearing screens, medication administration, and care for critically ill or opiate withdrawal newborns.

Support stabilization and transfer of critically ill newborns.

Required Qualifications :

Minimum of two (2) years of current RN experience in a labor and delivery setting.

State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.

BLS certification (must be through AHA, American Red Cross, or similar).

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.

Ability to pass BCA testing during the first week of assignment.

Preferred Experience / Skills :

EPIC electronic medical record system experience (training can be provided).

Experience with emergency obstetric and neonatal procedures.

$3100 includes taxable hourly rate plus meals and lodging stipend.
