Responsibilities
- Lead the accounting department in designing and implementing policies, procedures, and ERP system enhancements to ensure accurate financial records, robust internal controls, and strong analytical support for operations and decision-making.
- Oversee the preparation and management of the company’s annual budget and quarterly forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and providing meaningful financial insights to guide executive leadership.
- Conduct monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) reviews with project managers and divisional leaders to evaluate project performance, assess risks, and proactively manage change orders.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting, credit and collections, budgeting, Sarbanes‑Oxley documentation, tax, treasury, purchasing, capital planning, forecasting, information systems, and financial reporting functions across the organization.
- Perform quarterly reviews of indirect budgets to confirm accurate job costing, full absorption of indirect expenses, and timely updates to labor rates used in pricing and estimating models.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business and continuously monitor financial results against established plans and forecasts to ensure organizational performance remains on target.
- Direct and consolidate cost accounting activities and statistical reporting to ensure accurate reflection of operational outcomes.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to drive strategic planning, align financial and operational objectives with organizational goals, and deliver data‑driven insights that support growth, investment, and risk management.
- Develop, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate financial and operational performance, identify trends, and address emerging business issues proactively.
- Oversee the safeguarding of company funds and assets, including inventory management and control.
- Evaluate and report on the organization’s financial condition, issuing periodic analyses on financial stability, profitability trends, cash flow, and growth objectives.
- Coordinate tax compliance and risk management reporting activities with the corporate office.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate successful audit engagements
- Identify and evaluate operational challenges affecting specific departments or the broader organization, conduct financial and risk assessments, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Assess and recommend potential business partnerships and strategic alliances to support organizational growth.
- Lead the creation and maintenance of the company’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP) to ensure preparedness and effective response to business disruptions.
- Oversee the management and resolution of risk management claims in coordination with corporate risk management resources.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the finance, accounting, human resources, and information technology teams.
