Data Engineer I

Overview :

The Data Engineer I is a key technical resource for Alterman's data pipelines and helps contextualize and provide easy access to data for the entire organization. The Data Engineer I designs, builds, and deploys data solutions that capture, explore, transform, and utilize data to support and drive business initiatives.

Essential Functions :

1. 90%

• Constructs new data pipelines and optimizes existing ones to ensure resiliency and scalability.
• Designs data models for optimized reporting.
• Creates complex views specific for various operations groups.
• Creates Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) jobs from various data sources.
• Assists data team with data initiatives and automation needs.
• Maintains and enforces best practices with regards to data source control and queries.
• Contributes to data catalogs and dictionaries.
• Tests and debugs ELT functions.

2. Performs other duties as assigned. 10%
