Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

Locums - Wausau, Wisconsin NP / PA CVT Surgery Opportunity Clinical Role :

Coverage Dates : November 3, 2025 - December 31, 2026

Shift : Daily 6 : 00 a.m.-6 : 00 p.m. (end time may vary)

Weekend Coverage : 1 : 3 rotation

Practice Setting : Cardiothoracic surgery support with rounding, OR assistance, procedures, and consults as needed

Call Requirements : 20-minute response time; in-house call not required on weekends after rounds / orders / notes are completed

Facility & Support :

Hospital Bed Size : 15

Facility Type : Trauma Level II

Patient Assignments : Assigned patients

Patient Volume : 2-6 patients seen per day; 1-3 admissions per shift

Facility Accepts : Multiple providers

Hospital Certification : Stroke certified

EMR : Epic

Clinical Details : Daily Duties :

Rounding with surgeon

Vein harvesting if needed

First assisting in OR as needed

Performing procedures if skillset allows (A-line, central line, thoracentesis, chest tube placement)

Seeing new consults as needed

Weekend Duties : Rounding with surgeon; may leave after rounds / orders / notes unless called back for emergencies

Qualifications :

Licensure : Active Wisconsin license required

Certifications : ACLS, BLS required
