What You Can Expect

This position involves imaging / fractography and material analysis on returned product as well as Research, NPI (New Product Introduction) and manufacturing investigations. Frequent communication with internal and external customers is expected. Both teamwork and individual contributions are valued. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, driven and efficient.

This is an on-site position, 5 days per week (Monday - Friday) in Warsaw, IN.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Running chemical characterization and microscopy investigations
  • Creating reports on findings from investigations
  • Tracking, organizing and communicating status of investigations within the laboratory
  • Provide timely updates on tasks progress and day to day activities.
  • Working with Data Management Systems
  • Assist with instrumentation maintenance, lab supply moves, and documentation ...etc.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by direct supervisor or designee.
  • Other duties as assigned

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Possess knowledge of analytical test methods including, but not limited to SEM-EDS, optical microscopy, fractography.
  • Possess knowledge of material science / metallurgical engineering, manufacturing processing.
  • Experience with Titanium, Cobalt, and Stainless Steel alloys.
  • Computer literate with familiarity with MS Excel and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Results oriented with the ability to accomplish work in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work unsupervised on assigned tasks
  • Highly developed organizational skills - able to handle multiple high priority tasks / projects concurrently.
  • Your Background

  • Bachelors or greater in Materials Science, Biomaterials or similar
  • Experience required using optical and SEM imaging techniques, with fracture analysis background, preferably in a related field.
  • Travel Expectations

    Less than 5%
