The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is seeking a dedicated, hands-on individual to join Region Four's Panguitch Maintenance Station as a Transportation Technician II. This critical role is part of a dedicated team responsible for overseeing and supporting the construction and maintenance of state roads, helping to keep Utah moving safely and efficiently.

Principle Duties

As a transportation technician in maintenance, you will learn about general maintenance activities related to state routes, highways, and other transportation infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include operating heavy machinery such as snowplows, salt spreaders, front-end loaders, and backhoes to maintain the roads, inspecting and testing materials used, and utilizing software to manage the Department's assets. After 18 months, each transportation technician is expected to cross-train in various construction areas. You will perform the following :

In order to qualify at the Transportation Technician I level, applicants must have a class "A" CDL or be able to obtain one within 6 months of hire. After hire, candidate will need to complete all TEP, maintenance equipment, and construction certification requirements.
