Nurses will be responsible for interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips. The nurse will provide post-operative care for patients who have undergone procedures such as cardiac angiograms and surgeries. Daily census includes approximately 14 patients with a staffing ratio of 1 : 5-6. Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Weekly schedules require 6 weekend shifts over a 6-week period. BCLS and NIH certifications are mandatory, while ACLS and CPI certifications are preferred. Nurses must demonstrate proficiency in various telemetry skills, including blood product administration and central line management. Candidates should be prepared to float within their defined scope of practice to meet patient care needs. Additional responsibilities include monitoring patients on telemetry, administering medications, and managing IVs. Compliance with specific unit protocols regarding appearance and equipment is required. The environment is acute care, and teamwork is essential for patient outcomes.
